Wellness is "the balanced development of the total person..." (BYU Mission Statement), and is holistically comprised of six dimensions,
Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Financial, Emotional, and Social.
"But before ye seek for riches, seek ye for the kingdom of God.
And after ye have obtained a hope in Christ ye shall obtain riches, if ye seek them; and ye will seek them for the intent to do good—to clothe the naked, and to feed the hungry, and to liberate the captive, and administer relief to the sick and the afflicted."
Jacob 2: 18-19
Financial Wellness
Financial Wellness is the successful management of one's money which enables you to feel secure in the present moment and the future. When you live within your means, you will be able to choose how you spend or save your money, beyond just paying bills to survive. You will be enabled to do much good in the world and enjoy life more fully.
This year, we will highlight Financial Wellness during July and August.

BYU study shows changing population and income patterns in rural Mountain West
BYU professors Samuel Otterstrom and Matthew Shumway analyzed population and income trends in the Mountain West region over the past 20 years. Their research confirmed the widening inequalities between less wealthy “Old West” counties known for traditional mining, farming and ranching, and wealthier “New West” counties boasting natural beauty and recreational opportunities like hiking or skiing.
