Wellness is "the balanced development of the total person..." (BYU Mission Statement), and is holistically comprised of six dimensions,

Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Financial, Emotional, and Social.

"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

Helaman 5:12

Spiritual Wellness

Spiritual Wellness is found when a person consistently strives to align their actions with their personal values and beliefs, overtime becoming their best possible self. For members of the restored Church of Jesus Christ, we strive to emulate the Savior Jesus Christ and live by his commandments, relying on his loving mercy when we fall short.

This year, we will highlight Spiritual Wellness during November and December.

First known depictions of two biblical heroines uncovered in ancient Jewish synagogue

Almost every summer since 2011, BYU faculty and students have joined a consortium of universities led by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to excavate the synagogue in the ancient Jewish village of Huqoq, on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee. This year’s work on the building’s beautiful mosaic floor, which dates from the late fourth – early fifth century C.E., yielded a unique discovery: fragments showing Jael and the prophetess Deborah.
